What is everyday life like in a small Austrian village? And what does daily life look like in a community garden in the middle of London?
The Neudorf Institute is looking for people who would like to take part in a simple exchange with someone living in another place.
The idea is straightforward: one participant from Neudorf will be paired with someone from a community garden in Hackney, London. Over several weeks, they will exchange photographs, short messages, voice notes or videos about everyday life.
There is no need for perfect English. What matters are small glimpses into daily life:
- What’s growing in your garden?
- Which animals have you seen today?
- What are you cooking?
- Where do you like to walk?
- Which tools do you use?
- What stories belong to your neighbourhood?
The aim is to get to know a place through another person’s everyday experiences, even without ever visiting it.
The exchange forms part of a collaboration between the Neudorf Institute and a community garden in Hackney, London. With participants’ permission, the conversations will also contribute to a small research project exploring belonging, neighbourhoods and post-digital forms of community.
